Jaspreet Sidhu
Jaspreet Sidhu is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM), established by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India and the ITE&C Department, Govt. of Telangana, in partnership with industry. NCAM was conceived to build a sustainable product innovation ecosystem in India, bringing academia, industry and government together for research, design, development and testing using Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), a foundational technology of Smart Manufacturing.
Mr. Sidhu received the “Innovation Leadership Award” at the World Innovation Congress held in Hyderabad, Telangana, in November 2025. Under his leadership, NCAM was recognised among the Top 50 Start-Up Accelerators Powering India’s Innovation Ecosystem in 2025, underlining its role in enabling start-ups to turn ideas into market-ready products. His work sits at the intersection of 3D technology, AI and digital twins, where faster design cycles, data-driven development and virtual validation help start-ups scale and fuel India’s Smart Manufacturing growth.
Presentation topic : “ Smart Manufacturing India : 3D Technology, Ai & Digital Twins driving Startup lead Industry growth”.
Abstract :
Smart manufacturing is transforming India’s industrial landscape through the integration of 3D technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and digital twins. Additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, advanced visualisation, simulation, and AI-enabled digital twin solutions are accelerating product development, enabling mass customisation, improving operational efficiency, and reducing production costs. These technologies empower startups, MSMEs, research institutions, and established industries to develop innovative products, optimise manufacturing processes, and enhance competitiveness in domestic and global markets. By bridging the gap between research, industry, and entrepreneurship, India can build a robust ecosystem for technology adoption, skill development, and sustainable industrial growth. The integration of these advanced technologies will play a pivotal role in strengthening indigenous manufacturing, fostering industry–academia collaboration, and supporting the vision of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Democratising access to these technologies can accelerate startup-led innovation and establish India as a global hub for smart manufacturing.
