All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati (AIIMS Guwahati) is a public medical institute and hospital based in Guwahati, Assam under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences  (AIIMSs). On 26 May 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Institute. The institute was inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The institute has an annual intake of 100 MBBS students. The academic activity for the first batch of 50 MBBS students started in January 2021.

The AOMSI has eleven official state chapters in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal . These state chapters are affiliated to the AOMSI and are constitutionally recognised by Chapter.

The aim behind forming AiMeD is  allow the Indian Government to access a single point of contact and provide various services to the manufacturers like Advocacy on policy issues, Information services, Regulations for Medical Devices, Education and Training, services, Testing Assistance and guidance for Quality Certification (ISO, CE, GMP), Lobbying for funding for R&D from the Government, encourage innovations from member units, Improve clinician and patient access to the modern, innovative and reliable Medical Device technologies through organizing and supporting Meeting, Seminars, Symposia, Exhibitions and Demonstrations and also, to promote global harmonization and respect for the  Indian Device Industry.

It plays an active role in advocating for healthcare reforms, infrastructure development, tax and tariff regulations, health insurance issues, and any other challenges that healthcare organizations or the public face in delivering or accessing equitable healthcare services.

Through its subsidiary wings, the AHPI Academy, the association offers various healthcare programs that prioritize patient safety and quality of care. Another important entity under AHPI is the Healthcare Certification Centre, which develops standards for different categories of healthcare establishments. It also certifies healthcare agencies’ compliance with these standards and provides customized, certified training programs, including Quality Management System (QMS) and healthcare management training for the industry.

In a relatively short span, AHPI has become a prestigious organization in the healthcare sector, representing approximately 20,000 hospitals across India. Its goal is to unify healthcare providers to work collaboratively with the government and society to enhance the well-being of the common man and build a healthier India. The Society has 18 branches at all the important centers of aviation in the counter viz. Agra, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Mumbai, Nasik, Nagpur, Pune, Delhi, Kanyakumari, Sunabeda & Trivuvananthapuram. Society also has two Division (CFD Division and Design Division) at Bangalore.
