Dr. S Kanagaraj

Dr. S. Kanagaraj is the professor in the dept of Mechanical Engg and the Head, JBMSHST at IIT Guwahati. He has been granted 1 US patent and 8 Indian patents and he has also applied for 14 more Indian patents and 1 US patent. He has been working on different kinds of biomedical devices including cochlear implant, prosthetic knee joint, surgical devices and others. He has developed Gait and motion analysis laboratory at IIT Guwahati. He is the project coordinator of the School of Innovations in Biomedical Devices and Systems and Inter-institutional Biodesign Center, where 7 medical institutes are involved in the biomedical device developmental activities. 3 of his students started their own startups and received their start-up grants worth of Rs 31 lakh
