Mr. Sushant Banerji

Mr. Sushant Banerji is an Indian medical technology entrepreneur and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Orthotech India Pvt. Ltd., a company specialising in orthopaedic implants and joint replacement solutions. Based in Valsad, Gujarat, he has more than 27 years of experience in the medical device industry and has focused on developing quality, affordable orthopaedic products for healthcare professionals and patients.

Mr. Banerji began his career in the healthcare division of Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation before establishing his own orthopaedic implant manufacturing business in 1998. Under his leadership, Orthotech has expanded its capabilities in joint replacement implants, surgical instruments and advanced manufacturing technologies. The company has worked on innovations including hydroxyapatite coating and robotic plasma coating for orthopaedic implants.

A strong advocate of indigenous medical device manufacturing, Mr. Banerji promotes the integration of research, engineering and clinical expertise to advance orthopaedic care in India. Orthotech has pursued research and development collaborations with institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Kolkata.

His current areas of interest include metal 3D printing, customised patient-specific implants and technology-driven orthopaedic solutions. Through his industry engagement, Mr. Banerji supports the development of India's medical technology ecosystem and the wider adoption of advanced manufacturing in healthcare.
