Dr. Sabita Ram

Dr. Sabita M. Ram is a distinguished dental academician, senior prosthodontist and researcher, currently serving as Professor Emeritus at MGM Dental College & Hospital. With approximately 55 years of professional experience, she has made significant contributions to dental education, prosthodontics, research and academic leadership in India.

She has served as the Dean of MGM Dental College & Hospital and Director of Research at MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai. During her tenure as Dean from February 2011 to December 2018, she contributed to the institution's academic development, faculty advancement and the education of future dental professionals.

Dr. Ram's areas of expertise include prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, dental materials, implant dentistry and advanced dental rehabilitation. Her research contributions include studies on zirconia restorations, dental ceramics, implant-supported prostheses, complete dentures and innovative dental treatment techniques. She has also contributed to scientific publications and postgraduate dental education.

Her professional leadership includes serving as the first woman President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society and the first Chairperson of the Women's Dental Council of the Indian Dental Association. She has also served as President of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, India Section.
